So...I took a little (read BIG) vacation from blogging. Here's my attempt to get back while still capturing what happened during my time away.
Where do I start? Well, we moved back to Chicago, so we are close to both of our families. We moved to the Hyde Park neighborhood and live only 8 blocks from where Greg works at a Post Doc. I am still home full time with Isabel and spent most of the summer getting acquainted with the new neighborhood and finding us some mommy and baby friends to hang out with. So far, I am in love with the new neighborhood (and am even more so today!).
We are only blocks from the Museum of Science and Industry (MSI) and the beach. Isabel even got to see her first fireworks sitting on the beach. We also tried to visit the beach on Sunday mornings before it was technically "open". Here are some pics of our times there:
Isabel's a budding artist, very curious about things around her, and is so much fun! We visited the Brookfield Zoo with Greg's Aunt Laura and cousin, Nicole, and also spent a weekend at Lake Geneva with Nana (formerly Grandma M.)
We were also reunited with my half sister, Leslie, and her family.
Isabel also helped make her first batch of Chocolate Chip cookies with the help of Grandma H. and Mommy.
My nieces, Tanya and Jocelyn, came for a visit and we went to Millennium Park.
We made our first trip to MSI with a new Mom and Baby friend,
Spent many days at our favorite neighborhood park,
and even got to visit Isabel's best bud, Finley (Nunu), in Madison.
We also visited Lincoln Park Zoo for the first time with Nana and Aunt Annie
Isabel's other indoor hobbies this summer include reading and "playing" with Cali
...AND WE FOUND OUT WE WERE EXPECTING OUR SECOND LITTLE ONE ON MAY 29, 2011...ISABEL'S GOING TO BE A BIG SISTER!
