Catch up Post 2: Fall of 2010

(Entry recorded on 31Aug2011)

Most of the fall was spent trying to find things to do to keep busy while not spending too much time in the cold. We visited MSI with Nana

and Shedd Aqaurium with Grandma.

Isabel also got to meet Elmo at the JDRF walk this year. We really weren't sure what she thought of him...

Speaking of Elmo...this year, for Halloween, Isabel requested to be Abby Cadabby from Sesame Street. I worked long and hard on her costume (with Aunt Annie's help) and it came out super-cute! We had a few parties that we attended wearing the costume, but nothing will top Halloween on Harper. Greg and I dressed up too!

We can't wait for next year!

Isabel even started "reading" books. Cali thinks she is pretty great ;)

We enjoyed our first winter with a toddler and had tons of fun playing in the snow:

We also ventured to Indiana to cut down our Christmas tree. It was Isabel's first time picking out and cutting down a tree and she even got to meet Santa (fast-forward a few weeks---our Christmas tree came complete with a praying mantis nest!) That's one way to get it the hell out of the house, like, NOW! I remember like it was yesterday, that was the fastest Greg has ever made it home from work (and the most thoroughly I've vacuumed since our foster kittens had fleas)!!

By the way, Santa's only redeeming quality in Isabel's eyes was that he gave her a candy cane. Just as expected, she was pretty terrified.

Isabel had a blast decorating the Christmas tree, "helping" me wrap presents (and herself), and decorating cookies for the first time this year. It was so much fun!

More to come with the holidays in the next post...
