It started with just the two of us....

We started dating in January of 1998. Although attending different schools, our families lived just blocks and then minutes away from each other. Actually, it seems like our families have lived very close since before we even knew each other. Clearly we were meant to find each other! We have enjoyed many wonderful times together and are excited to see what the future brings.

We started our zoo with our first cat, Cali. We got Cali in July 2003, when she was only 8 weeks old. She weighed a mere 1.5 lbs and was cute as can be. Here is a photo of her shortly after we brought here home. She has grown quite a bit since then, but is still the same spitfire she was when we got her. To this day, you can still find her chasing her tail!

A little less than a year later. we thought that Cali could use some companionship. We got her a little black buddy, who Greg named Mickey. Mickey was also 8 weeks old when we brought him, but he weighed 2 lbs. Cali did not accept him home right away, but after a short while, they were best buds. We got him only a week before we moved up to Madison, so he is not quite as social as our college kitty, Cali, but he is quite the lover.

Our house (zoo) has also been home to a number of vagrants. For our first few years in Madison, we fostered cats and kittens for a local non-profit organization called Angel's Wish. We have many great memories starting with our first mom and two babies that we fostered on an emergency basis to our last mom who gave birth here in March 2008 to two boy kittens. Although we are no longer fostering, we try to stay involved and help the homeless animals out in other ways.

In March of 2007, we adopted Delilah, our crazy little pooch, from a local animal shelter. They told us she was an "orange dog"--one who is laid back most of the time. Turns out she was just sick and scared and once she got well and used to us and her surroundings, her wild side came out! Although hesitant with strangers, she is the sweetest (and cutest) girl around. She brightens our days with her antics, sassiness, and constant need for love and attention. Here's a photo of her the day her daddy picked her out!
Now we are just waiting for the day our new human addition arrives! (which should be any day now....)
