Izzy's First Easter Weekend in Chicago

This weekend was our second trip into Chicago since Izzy was born. This weekend Izzy was going to meet the rest of our extended families for Easter.

On Saturday morning we went to Izzy's Great Grandma's house to meet the males in Greg's family. She was able to meet all but the two Petes. Unfortunately, her Great Uncle Pete was sick and her second cousin Pete was still out of town. We went to blessing of the basket and Greg was able to try out his new carrier for her since we didn't have room for the stroller in our car. It worked well and she seemed to enjoy walking to church in it. Walking home from there was not so easy as I had to walk the 4 blocks while nursing her with my jacket over my shoulders and Izzy under a blanket and the Peanut Shell (a discreet nursing device). It worked, but I had to walk quite a bit slower. I was very glad that I opted for the pants instead of the knee length skirt...

We then visited with Greg's family a bit longer and ate lunch and then we headed over to my Aunt's house to meet my extended family on my dad's side. Unfortunately, things were so busy that I forgot to get the camera out! We were able to meet most of the uncles and cousins, but a few of them were unable to attend due to illness or having to work. Things were very crazy and by the end of the day Isabel was pooped! We were happy that Easter Sunday was going to be low key.

On Sunday, we hung out at Grandma M's house with Uncle Chris, Mary, and Aunt Ann. Izzy was actually able to get in some real naps, which were much needed after her busy day on Saturday. We drove home on Sunday in the late afternoon.

Izzy was so tired she fell asleep like this with Aunt Annie!

Enjoying a quiet moment with Uncle Chris...

We got into town around 7:30 pm and headed straight into campus so that Greg could do a little bit of work. I nursed Izzy in the car and Delilah hung out in the front seat looking at all of the people coming in and out of the buildings.

By the time we got home, we were all very tired. Izzy even fell asleep on her own in her crib...WHAT A WONDERFUL GIFT AFTER A VERY TIRING WEEKEND!

We didn't give Izzy her easter basket until Monday morning and Delilah really wanted to eat it. Greg read her the Easter book the Easter Bunny left for her and we set up the camera to take some family pics and got started with our day.
